Suspendida la Tarjeta de Débito de Asianpay

Acabo de recibir un email de Asianpay informandome de la suspensión de su tarjeta de débito definitivamente.

We regret to inform you that the our Debit Card program has been definitely suspended by the Debit Card issuing Company and consequently we have decided to close it.
We perfectly understand the level of frustration and disappointment this will bring to our members. The same to all of us here.

This Debit Card Deal is a long story that started in July 2006. Has generated for us huge losses, not only in terms of expenses but regretfully also in terms of Business development and, which is highly important, Company Image.


We were left with no other choice that definitely discontinues the program. Our Company has strongly evaluated the possibility to start a law suit against the Canadian Company providing us with the program, but at the end we decided to settled up with them the closure of the deal and to go no further avoiding a long and costly legal battle keeping us busy with legal matters instead of being focused on the Business development.

The Debit Card that you may have purchased from us is not usable and valid anymore.

We keep up with our responsibility in front of our members and we have already refunded in full our members accounts with the following:

- the amount of the debit card purchase
- the money available in the debit card balance if any
- the fees paid to load the card

We still believe that a Debit Card program is an important feature that our Group of Companies should offer to its members.
The International situation of the Payment Industry is evolving almost daily. Government agencies are everyday more strict and new rules and regulations are continuously implemented to limit Businesses Freedom. We do not always agree with any new rule, but we have a 2 years history of respect of the law and we will continue on the same way, which is to find solutions that respecting the law allow us to offer the services our members are looking for.

For this reason we have closed any possible deal with private Debit Cards provider and we have started a time demanding but surely successful project that will hopefully allow us to launch in the next 3 to 6 months our Branded AsianPay Debit Card with an institutional program directly licensed from one of the Major Cards Provider.
